Hello, meet Joep. He is one of the leading authors of the national standard for environmental product declarations in the Netherlands and is involved in similar efforts in Europe and North-America through his seat in the ASTM committee for Sustainable Construction, the US-Green Building Council (USGBC) Materials and Resources Technical Advisory Group (MR TAG) for LEED from 2011-2013, the PCR technical committee of the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA), the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Sustainable Pavements Technical Working Group and the Sustainability Leadership Committee for the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CPTech). |
BACKGROUND
Joep Meijer is our Founder and President. He is a recognized industrial ecologist using life cycle thinking and life cycle assessment to quantify sustainable performance. The Right Environment, operates on an international scale with local and international players in exploration, processing, manufacturing, construction and policy making. He holds a degree in life sciences from the University of Nijmegen, with a focus on environmental chemistry. COMMUNITY SERVICE We give back by offering our expertise to assist the City of Austin getting to Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, being an advisor to the board of Texas Electric Transportation Resource Alliance, TXETRA, and consulting with the Baker Institute at Rice University to develop a soil carbon standard for farmers. |
